Led by Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant (brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Ronnie), 38 Special’s blend of roots and Rock made them favorites in the Southern Rock movement that also included The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
